I see your perspective but this doesn’t make them cup contenders. I also think the risk involved in bringing in rentals with no assurance of signing them. If they sign Korpisalo, that makes the goalie situation next year more convoluted. I’m going to try to see this in the best light, but it’s not easy.

I don't think this makes them cup contenders either. I think you're talking about 1-2 rounds. This does make their team better today and gives them something to build off of for next year. They get the first chance to resign both guys if they want
