Generally, it has a lot to do with when the trade is called in/registered with the league. Take the Patty Kane trade for instance. Everyone knew about it and the details 2 hours before it actually happened. But because the teams had to wait until 4 PM CST to make the money work, they didnt call it in with the league / it wasn't officially registered. Since this trade was practically a complete secret until the moment it happened, it didnt take very long between hearing about it and it being registered with the league

I think this is a good deal for both sides. You guys lacked RD and Hronek is a solid top 4 dman who still is an RFA at expiration of his current deal

Everything in Vancouver had been leaking for months. Nothing could happen without some sort of indication, like the entire Boudreau saga. It's crazy that nobody has any insight on this at all.

The trade must have come together very quickly right after Larkin re-signed.

Thats fair. Im sure someone knew about their interest. Im just speaking in reference to all the leaks Friedge and Seravelli post on twitter. nobody had it until the deal came through.
