Fabbro is for sure available and probably worth a 2nd OR 3rd. I wouldn’t trade a 2nd for him. A Zadina for Fabbro swap makes sense but, I’m not sure I would be happy moving Zadina right now unless it’s part of a larger deal.

The LAK prospects not named Clarke don’t really get me excited.

Hopefully we’ll make a move with Toronto for Bertuzzi and net Niemela and Holl (perhaps more).

The consensus in a Fabbro deal seems to be a second of base value and a low grade prospect. So, that’s what I assume her cost

This Hronek guy is pretty good. Say, how about NYI's first round pick and a 2023 2nd? We can even throw in a fourth round pick to even it out

Ugh I'm not happy about the deal. Hronek is playing his best hockey right now. Although I do think that he might fall off a bit in Vancouver, to hopefully not though.

It definitely sucks. Puts us in a rough position.
If we can get a RHD before TDL (other than Holl) I'll be happy. Would be happiest if we grabbed Niamela and just booted up Al. a year early. He's played RD for a bit.

All of our young RDs should be available except Roy. Setting a price is more difficult. Walker is a good stopgap for the one season left on his contract; probably worth your 2023 third. Hard to tell about Grans; he's an excellent prospect but what are prospects who haven't broken into the NHL yet worth? (His first year in Ontario was better than his current one.) Spence is an excellent prospect who had a successful audition last season; I think that he's worth your own second (because it's the latest of the three). Durzi seems pretty clearly going to be a top-4 defenseman; the NY first is probably too much for him and your earliest second probably isn't enough.

Chiarot plays RD and is more offensive on that side
MSL moved him to RD for the first time since he left WPG and Chiarot was a point per game.

Downside is he's less physical and blocks less shots when he plays RD.
He's good enough i know MTL had interest in bringing him back but term was too much at that cap hit.
What he needs is a LD who plays a physical game who can keep up with him playing 20-21 minutes a night .
Give him that and you'll be happy with the results as in WPG and MTL he did good with Dmen who were

    Liljegren!

Toronto have 9 defenders after they acquired Gustafsson and they're trying to get Bert.

Liljegren + 1st + cap dump for Bert retained.

Yeah that would be ideal but I don't see them trading away both Sandin and Liljgren. Even more so since with him they only have two more righties and both of them aren't top 4 guys. Never know though.
