still not happy. Not to mention this now gives the Pens 4 LHD. Not sure why this move happened unless there is another one coming.
Paying a 3rd just to move McGinn's contract would have been worth it. This is a good move after this year. As long as they don't think this makes Pettersson expendable.
I mean this move is an obvious W for the Pens. Not sure why you would have an issue with it?
the log jam on the left side is my concern. Pens easily have 10 on defense and 6 on the left side. And most will have to go through waivers if sent down. So the Pens could lose players for nothing or will be riding at least 8 defense for the rest of the year. Also, didn't see a need to add to the defense. Bottom six is still the biggest concern and nothing Hex has done is helping that. I like Bonino but I'm not sure he's the solution.

They only have 7 on the roster right now correct - 3 on the left side? Kulikov makes it 8 and 4? So nobody has to get sent down. The point of the trade is just to dump McGinn. Also, the Pens defense has been less than stellar this year. I agree bottom 6 is needed - but there's nothing wrong with adding another defenseman in a trade who's main purpose is just to dump McGinn. He did get Granlund too though
