They got a lot of pieces currently, if they made the selloff thus summer they would have a solid future. Not sure if Rashevsky and Chibrikov are part of that future, I really hope they are cause they got lots of potential but unfortunately with everything in the world I doubt those kids are allowed to come here.

Id rather pay money to watch Lucius, Lambert, Samberg and Heinola play and lose than what we currently have.

I agree with you here, time to move on from Chevy.

The only defense I can have of him is I don't know how much Chipman rules over what he tries to do but I've heard Chipman has a say in everything so if that's true then you've gotta cut Chevy a bit of slack.

Also if Chipman does have that much influence then I'd say the organization is doomed and will eventually be moved again, support is gonna further dwindle if they can't put a better product on the ice cause the owner thinks he's a GM.

Having said that Idk how Chevy doesn't make another minor depth forward move at the very least, some guys went for very little yesterday. I can't excuse Chevy for not acquiring Sundqvist, Ritchie, Domi, etc. One more move could've drastically improved that bottom six which has like four guys that should be in the AHL ffs!

Look at their asset management and drafting over the years, their drafting after the first round has sucked. Also losing Essymoint and Kovacevic has been terrible.

Oh I agree, any time I say that I get a barrage of comments saying how good the Jets are at drafting and developing and how important it is to this team.

Wonder if anyone realizes that other then 10th overall Perfetti the Jets only have Samberg and Stanley contributing anything since they drafted Laine 2nd overall. Think about that, since an early pick in 2016 they have a 10th overall pick playing for them and a couple 3rd pair dmen that could be replaced by guys on the waiver wire, sorry but thats not good drafting and developing in my opinion and one of the only other success stories in that time frame was Kovacevic who likely is just another 3rd pair guy but he was lost on waivers to keep Capobianco ffs! Its comical how this team operates.. lol

Id argue Heinola, Chisholm and Gustaffsson are full time NHL players now but they just dont get played.

That's true, I really think Gawanke could be a player too but isn't given a chance, speaks to how poorly run the organization is that guys they've invested in aren't given more runway to make the team.

I wonder how much appetite Chipman would have in moving on from Chevy. If he replaces Chevy with another GM, then Chipman might have to reduce his reported (by beat reporters) influence over hockey decisions beyond what other owners do -- Molson and Vinik have in the past said they let the hockey people run the operation. If the owner elevates Chevy up to President of Hockey Operations and hires a GM, then that would provide a buffer between ownership and the GM. However, would the owner want to pay another executive level salary amid dwindling gate receipts and tough business conditions?

What burns me about the jets is, by now you would think they would realize who they are, can’t be overly loyal to your aging players period, 4 years for Lowry, 5 for little, 5 for wheeler and no 6/8 for laine. Lineup can’t get old because there’s nobody coming to save you, complacency has settled in or something. Got to find the echl leaguers and the hungry kids to keep building into something. Scary that they are probably going to try and save face and throw big money/big term at scheifele and helly and look rather awful in 3/4 years. We are the new wild, bubble bubble bubble
