Get your Domi jerseys while they are half off

Description
I don’t actually think they are half off anywhere, but if they are it’s a good bet. I think a Reichel/Domi/Kurashev line would be solid for 1st line development of two important players next year.

You guys didn't ask us for our 2024 first and 2025 second for Jake McCabe by himself, so we're not talking to you anymore. And anyway, Cal Petersen isn't a cap dump.

Cal Petersen is a goalie with a .868 SV% this year and has played the majority of his time in the AHL. Oh, and he's making $5 million for the next two years. If that's not a cap dump I legitimately don't know what is.

Whether you legitimately know or don't know what a cap dump is may be open to question, but what isn't is that you don't know how to read a chart.

Petersen makes $5 million for the 2023-2024 season, correct. If he gets back to the NHL, it will be because he's playing up to NHL standards, and thus not a negative value. If he doesn't, he gets $1 million in 2024-2025 and $2 million in 2025-2026.

What are you talking about?

He's owed $5 million in real money next year and $6 million the following year. His cap hit is $3.9 million when he's in the minors, not doing anything for the team.

He is indeed a cap dump.

Depends on your definition of cap dump.

In order to move Petersen's contract, the Kings would have to give up assets, so in that regard, he is a cap dump.

However, due to the inconsequential buyout cap hit, the Kings will not give up assets to move him. They'd rather just bury him in the AHL for one more season and buy him out next summer than give up anything of value.

So is he a cap dump? Technically yes. But the Kings won't dump him. So also no.

He is a full cap dump then, just Los Angeles doesn't mind cap dumping themselves.

How many similar contracts can they match? The next dominos to fall would be Miller and Chytil.

In the last 10 years we have seen two offer sheets with one of them being in retaliation. I highly doubt any of them get offer sheeted but if Laf does, It would be very highly unlikely Miller of Chytil would
