Thats a unique one for RM, I'd probably do it, but you're gonna have to sweeten the pot a bit if you want us to retain 1+

No reason to trade a goalie on league minimum for the next 3 years and picks for a $5,000,000 one who just had a bad year.

Probably not to be honest. I was feeling generous with the 2nd here. It cuts off 2 years of paying the full $6.75M and gives the Preds another high pick. It's fair all around

That's how you acquire top-tier talent. Vegas won't get anywhere with Logan Thompson as their starter. He's an average goaltender at best. Demko has top-15 starter pedrigree for the next 3 seasons and $5M is what Lehner was making.

RM is still a very capable top 4 shutdown D. There isn't much of a difference between him and Ekholm, and we saw the return that Ekholm received.

I feel I was being generous with my first comment, and while I don't think RM gets us that big of a package, it's definitely more than you've offered here. ESPECIALLY with retention.
Not to mention Nashville is re-tooling, Martinez does nothing for us.

I'll backtrack on my first comment. We decline

Thompson is a 26 year old starter with a .914 on the past two seasons, also on a league min.
Demko is a night and day goalie making 5m, who's also a bandaid.

This trade puts Vegas back. Terrible for them

Apparently the Canucks would be asking for the equivalent of 3 1sts for Demko.

Translation: He's not getting moved unless its a terrible overpayment.

Interesting deal for mcd but nashville probably declines. We have noone anywhere near challenging him for 2nd pairing lhd and tons of cap. He will be a good mentor to Lauzon and Foote effectively replacing ekholm in that role.

Hahahaha on that Vancouver trade. Absolutely not. Demko had a hot stretch but not worth this kind of assets and giving up the best goalie contract in hockey. Pass

lmfao @Thompson being "the best goalie contract in hockey", dude's an AHL goalie who hit a hot streak for a few months. Going back to last season, Thompson is 51st in GSAx with 0.71. He's barely backup quality LOLLLLL

How is Demko night and day? Are you saying this after he had a bad 15 game stretch at the beginning of the season when he was injured? He has been one of the most consistent and durable goalies in the league

A hot stretch? 100 games is a pretty long hot stretch. Or do you mean that he is an elite goalie who had a bad 15 games this season when he played with an injury. Demko is the best goalie in the Pacific division

You... do know how GSAx works... right...?
He still has a .914 back to back seasons thus far. He's a clear starter making league minimum.

If he's so bad, why is Vancouver trading for him? Isn't he barely backup quality? Or is it because you're a Habs fan, you're projecting your goalie struggles onto other teams?

Relax a bit. These aren't good trades, and you got called out. Cope with it or don't post at all.

Key words "has been"

His value is tanked.

Hardly. He had a bad 15 games while injured. He is now back from injury and has been elite. Playing like his normal self.

Also, "has been" is written in present tense. He is still a top goalie

Do...you know how GSAx works? And do you know how standard save percentage works? I'm not sure. Vancouver is trading for him because Vegas wants a real starting goaltender (AKA Demko)

Just seems like people called you out on a bs trade and you got upset.

At this point in the season Thompson > Demko. Brutal, brutal trade.
