Created by: alwaysnextyear
Team: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 8, 2023
Published: Mar. 8, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
OEL will be a buyout at some point, but it may not be this offseason if the team can move a couple other players out. Likely will happen in 2024 to accommodate new deals for Petey and Hronek.

Bear has been replaced by Hronek, nor is he a 3m dollar player, he's likely an unqualified rfa/ufa.

Hoglander & Kravtsov won't sign for 900k

Barbashev will get 5+

Don't need adin hill

Mcdonagh has never played pro hockey and you have him as a 3lw, not very likely.

Woo won't be re-signed by the canucks, maybe the baby canucks in abby.

Hoglander has no choice; his Qualifying Offer is $874,125 and he doesn't have arbitration rights. (Kravtsov does; his QO is $840,000.)

Welcome to CapFriendly, by the way.

IMO Canuck fans overate the trade value of Garland. He's not the special at 4.9m

Thanks for your input. Here are my responses;

1) Hronek adds to the right side, but the team still needs capable bodies there. 3m might be an overpay for Bear, but it sounds like the team would like to re-sign him.
2) Neither Hogs or Kravtsov have proven anything yet at the NHL level that would dictate they get more money on a one or two year deal.
3) If Barbashev gets a team to pay him $5m+ I really hope it isn't VAN.
4) I agree the team doesn't NEED Adin Hill, but after seeing how much different the team looks with adequate goaltending this season it wouldn't surprise me if the team invested in a solid backup/1B on a 1 or two year deal (assuming they want to make the playoffs next year). This would allow Silovs to further hone his game in the AHL.
5) McDonagh is my 4LW here, and he would likely be in and out of the lineup as well as back-and-forth between Abby and Van. They'll want to see what he can do though.
6) Woo is young enough that he should be re-signed and continue to develop in Abby.
