He won't sign with a struggling Canadian team.
A three way trade, or a proxy three way trade might make sense. Debrincat to Team A for picks, and then flip those picks to a team like Vancouver or Nashville for a goalie like Demko or Saros.
Forsberg would have to go the other way as the money in/money out, not Joseph. Forsberg may never be the same again. While it's cold to trade him after that injury, the Sens might be doing him a favour. He can clear waivers and work on his game without pressure in the AHL, and a team who is rebuilding or re-tooling will be in a better position to take the risk of eventually working him into NHL games.
Sogaard will sign a cheap 2 year 1-way deal to bridge him to arbitration. He will be the backup or 2B type goalie. In terms of Demko, that timeline works perfectly for Ottawa because it means that 2 years from now they trade 1 or the other. If they trade Demko, Sogaard will starting money. By that time, Merilainen will have 2 years of North American Pro experience under his belt, and they will also know if he can figure in as their #2 goalie on a cheap RFA bridge deal.
