What sort of blackmail material do the habs have on Don Sweeney? That’s the only way he makes that trade.

what else would you add? that's still a top 15 pick, a good and cheap 1b/2a goalie and a center prospect that plays at more then 2ppg in the q

To much to give up for a goalie. They're easier to find than people seem to think and Swayman isn't worth the top 15 pick alone in my book

you don't see him as a number 1 goalie?

I just think goalies are inconsistent pieces of the puzzle that can be brought in cheaper and by other means. Rather take a chance on drafting one or signing one as a FA. Giving up this much in assets hasn't been done in years for a good reason

It’s not a matter of adding. Ya, it’s a joke of an offer, but even if it wasn’t, it’s just a hard no on swayman to Montreal.

Bruins might have a cap next year of only 80m due to bonus overages. Swayman could be offer sheeted at up 4.3m for just a second rounder. Seems like a deal the Bruins would have to take.

The threat of an offer sheet that the Bruins can't match due to their cap situation.

1. Sure they can. Teams are allowed to trade players to create cap flexibility
2. Offer sheets? Ya, okay. I’ll believe it when i see it.
3. One thing that Sweeney has always been ridiculously good at is dealing with his own players.
4. It’s montreal. There’s no shot they let him go to montreal. Cmon.

Yes, Boston COULD clear out enough cap to beat the OS, but its not going to be easy, a lot of contracts expire this year, and basically all of them are budget deals. At what price point does keeping Swayman gut the rest of the roster too far?

There isn’t a realistic point. He’s the long-term goalie.

Trade Hall. Done. I would hope bruins management trades ullmark before swayman.
