Pretty solid ACGM, although I think Colorado has to keep Byram no matter what

I like this offer sheet play on Byram a lot, Girard could also be a cheaper target to play with Hronek

Many GMs have said there’s a code against it and they wouldn’t do it though so I doubt it

Garland likely can't be traded without retention of cap coming back. One year contract? Canucks may not be QO, so he becomes a UFA in one year.
But the reality is, sign a UFA for about 5m, and keep the picks..

You can’t OS 8 years but COL matches. That contract is a bargain by the 2nd or 3rd year. COL will roll a top 2 of Makar and Byram as long as possible.

Missed you signed him and then extended him. 1000% COL matches $6.3 they don’t even take anytime to think about.

I love the idea of offer-sheeting Byram but COL will definitely match that

agreed they match, would cause chaos tho. they would have to move someone likely. A nucks unprotected first could be appealing if COL wants to get out on the injury risk

Byram is much better than any FA dman this year and much younger. Id like Graves as a LHD

Not for Byram it isn’t. Byram proved he can dominate in the playoffs, and let’s be honest the Avs aren’t going to be drafting in the top 4 anytime soon. The Avs core is now MacK, Makar, Mikko, Byram, Landy, Nichushkin for better or worse. That means if it means jettisoning someone else to keep Byram the short list of non core guys they don’t move are Toews and Georgiev. But I will be honest a Byram offer sheet would cause some commotion but unless a team goes to at least the 2 1st rd 1 2nd 1 3rd COL just matches and makes whatever moves necessary. Remember also the cap is expected to rise pretty significantly in the next few years.
