I can understand that. I just think they’re gonna be looking for a center, he’s good at faceoffs, and they’ll want to unload that Miller contract

Sorry but Pierre-Joseph Oliver isn't worth a top 40 pick in a very deep draft, Detroit easily passes.

Detroit would have absolutely zero interest in that trade. We have 3 NHL LHD signed for next season already and Edvinsson on the way with more in the wings.
Carter has a full NMC and I'm not sure he would want to go back to Philly after they traded him. So if there is a team that he would possibly accept a trade to, don't expect anything coming back after you pay to dump him.
Doesn't seem like the right package for Miller.
I don't see San Jose giving up picks for a goaltender when they could just sign one of the many or use what they have internally.
It's not that the value isn't there in the Seattle trade it's just the have no reason to make that trade as it makes their team worse and they want to improve.
Also serious question, do you actually expect Addison to accept that offer sheet let alone not have Minnesota to match it instantly?

Way to know exactly what the Wings a. Do not need LHD and b. Knowing what Yzerman would not do and trade a top 2nd round pick for a player who has done nothing to deserve that kind of return.

If you make enough teams with San Jose trading a 4th for a backup goalie, maybe it will be a thing. Or maybe they just sign a free agent who would be just as good and keep the pick

Minnesota matches easily
Buffalo declines
Detroit declines
Carter declines to waive
Vancouver declines, and thankfully, I want no part of that awful Miller extension
Pens decline the Sea trade, lol.

Canucks have always said that if they traded Miller they would need a young center back to replace him. Besides I'd rather pay Miller 3 million more who is by far the better player anyway. Pass.
