I did read the description. You're saving $5.5 mil in cap space here, which is how you managed to add Goodrow, Lindgren, Schenn and Blackwood. The *VALUE* for Anaheim here would be to get paid to take that cap hit from you, creating space for you. Not to say "Hey, here let us do you this big 'ol favor, so that maybe somewhere down the road we can recoup a 3rd round pick or something!". The additional (potential) value would then be if they flipped him at 50%, which, at $2.75 mil, still wouldn't be much (because he's not good...).

The money side of this is consequential for a team that needs to hit the cap floor. Anaheim will have no trouble getting there.
