Description
Most realistic 23/24 roster I could think of. Goodrow traded allows Kane to take a pay-cut. Miller/Laf/Chytil deals seem realistic. They should find the cheapest capable backup out there. Othmann would be great on a north-south line with Troch and Kreids. Motte staying should be easier this time. He takes a 500k pay-cut but gets 3-4 years bc he knows we love him here.

For the millionth time, Goodrow is not coming back to SJ. The contract alone is going to cost nyr a 1st to move and they're not getting a high 2nd n return. Pass.

Why get Dell when Stalock would be cheap and is a FA and had a good save % (915%) and play on that dumpster fire of a team in Chicago. The other two goalies to start more than 5 games combined for an 895% and that shows Stalock as a more than capable backup able to play 18-25 games and won’t cost more than maybe 1 mil.

Let me help you out in one word...Calgary. One thing is certain: the Flames are destined to make changes. With both Lewis and Lucic becoming UFAs, the Flames are going to lose its championship pedigree, a season after losing its star power. Youth will not necessarily be the way they go entirely; enter Barclay Goodrow.

With Blake Coleman being the lone Cup ranger, this could be a move Calgary wants in addition to permanence of Duehr, Pelletier and others on defense.

Proposal:

NYR: Goodrow, Barclay
CGY: Kylington, Oliver

On a one-year contract, Kylington helps the Rangers peel $1.1 million dollars off their cap in '23-24, along with the remainder of Goodrow's contract.

For Calgary, they are able to add a second Swiss army knife. The Rangers get a new offensive defenseman for one season paired with Schneider.

The cap savings avoids the buyout option.

Don't see SJ as a good fit for Goodrow....but there should be a few teams (mostly those who fall short in playoffs) who realize what Goodrow can bring to their lineup. Maybe Calgary is one...can see Buffalo as another...how the playoffs pan out will have a lot to do with what teams can see themselves as benefiting from what Goodrow can give.
