Continuing the rebuild

Created by: sharcuda22
Team: 2023-24 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 25, 2023
Published: Mar. 25, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1- Sharks hold number 1 spot in draft and get bedard
2- Tank one more year get a top 5 pick in 23/24
3- Cap hell ends for 24/25 season and this is when we should make our first run at a playoff spot

Gonna be honest with the trades, feel like Im a little off on the value for some. I dont know how well or unwell a lot of the guys play, just looked at points vs AAV which isnt the greatest way to measure performance.

Make room for elite tendy wolf. Get some one who thrives with an elite passer thats low risk cuz his contract expires. Get locker room guy that blocks lots of shots + create a lil cap space. Idk how good tanev is. 1st prolly isnt the right value tho I just didn't wanna send Mario away with out one :'(

Tanev has been the one of the top defensive defensemen in the league for 3 years straight. Going from RHD Tanev to LHD Ferraro is a pretty massive downgrade. He is also a fantastic locker room guy.

Lastly this literally adds cap space to Calgary's already extremely tight cap situation

The contrast between a fart and a hurricane occurs to me.

Canucks obviously decline. Pearson sounds like he's heading towards being LTIRetired at this point, and there's less than a 0% chance Vancouver pays a 1st to dump Myers.

Edmonton declines. They don't particularly need another 3rd pairing guy and those guys are available for cheap as UFA's all summer long, so he's not worth the 2nd.

We've had Benning before; we know what he is and what he is ain't worth a 2nd.
