Foegele is much better than Goodrow, they aren't paying two prospects for a downgrade who has FOUR years left on his deal. If you want the better player, you have to pay.

I doubt Goodrow's M NTC would include any team that has cap (Montreal) or maybe not far away Edmonton.

Ranger trade is delusional, but its par for the course for a Habs fan.

That’s an interesting website. I looked back and compared from 2019 to present since Goodrow’s numbers for this season are particularly down. Foegele is certainly the better goal scorer but as far as assists go they are about even. Goodrow also is the more physical player and a shot blocker. Then you add in the fact he can play as a centre and I think he’d be quite valuable at 1.82 million for 4 years. It’s a good cap hit for a bottom six player on a team that has that many big contracts to pay out.

What’s delusional? The Rangers have to move Goodrow out.

You have no choice in regards to moving him out. It’s either a dump or a buyout.

Says who? And if they do trade him, it won't cost a pick to move him, he is a very versatile forward worth his cap hit. But, I don't think Drury moves him anyway. That's why it's delusional.

So you want to not be able to sign Tarasenko or Kane all to keep Goodrow?

So you are going to lose Kane and Tarasenko to keep a 4th liner? And yes it’ll cost a lot to dump about 15 million in cap over 4 years.

LOL. There was never a chance to sign Tarasenko, he is a pure rental because he will get a fat contract, but Kane all depends on how much he wants and for what term. If he takes a cheap deal, then maybe he stays. They have nothing to do with Goodrow staying or going.

And maybe u never watch Ranger games, but since they got Motte, the line of Motte/Goodrow/Vesey has been as good as any line they have. Better to sign Motte and keep that line together than signing aging free agents.

Goodrow is 30, you'd expect his numbers to be down. And that's exactly why I don't want him for 4 more years, especially if we have to give up a BETTER player AND two prospects to get him. There's no upside for Edmonton.

You can’t sign either without moving him unless you plan on letting someone like Miller go. All of your options are bad ones except for trading or buying out Goodrow.

I’ve looked at it from your angle. You won’t be able to resign Motte. I think you are severely underestimating how bad your cap situation actually is.

Every single Rangers ACGM on here that doesn’t move Goodrow also doesn’t resign Kane, or you’re losing Lafrenière. That’s the reality of your bad cap situation.

You have no idea what Drury's plan is. No one on this forum does. Much of what direction he takes, such as try to keep Kane or not, will depend on what happens in the playoffs. Until the playoffs play out, this is all nonsense. And you forget that Drury did not want Kane, he went after Tarasenko, and it was Kane that WANTED NY only. So who knows how much Kane will take to stay in NY. Maybe he takes a very low deal with bonuses, a la what the Bruins did this year. You don't know, I don't know, only Kane knows. But what I can say that is if he wants a fat contract, it's not going to be from Drury. All of this will matter in what Drury does. Get it yet? Guess all you want, but at the end of the day, Drury is not in a box and if he wanted could move Goodrow without it being a cap dump. Plenty of teams would take him as is.

the rangers trade is not fair value says this habs fan... someone is trying too hard to get a third first pick.... picks between 20-32 only 17 players in thirteen season have become top 6 forwards or top 4 def or starting goalies... that is 1.3 each each.... everybody but one person gets nothing much from those slots...... Mcccarron Schbretk Juulson poehling etc....so dont trade significant things for a 1 in 10 crapshoot...

Comparably... montreal took caufield 15th and guhle 16 so that is where the picks need to be... So florida's pick will be great but other picks late are not so valuable

You just made a good case for why NYR should have no problem trading the Dallas 1st. It’s going to be a late 1st and likely a not very significant prospect as you’ve stated.
