Would the Penguins move on from Jarry who seems to be very injury prone? They add Ullmark who most likely wins the Vezina and the Bruins open up cap. Not sure what a trade might look like but I am sure Ullmark would waive for the Pens and the Bruins would be able to open up cap. Just a thought, let me know what you think.

Would Jarry be included in a Jarry trade?

No because his contract ends after the current season. Therefore, the Pens do not offer him one and trade for Ullmark.

Ok but they need to ship a tendy so the trade is valid so maybe Desmith? Plus its low value for Linus

Yeah not sure why the Bruins would make this move.

Bruins have to open up some cap space if they want to resign some of their players next year. My thought is sell high on Ullmark, get more cap space and add some picks.

Just offersheet Swayman. Bruins have less than 10 mill in cap space next year and that doesn't include any bonuses from this year that roll over. A 4.2mill AAV could force Boston into letting him go.

No it wouldn't, they'd match and take a hit somewhere else. Likely would be piss poor depth

Boston has 9.7 mill in space without taking into account performance bonus rollovers. They have to fill 6 forward spots, a defender spot, and the back up goalie. 4.2 for Swayman without bonuses only leaves 5.5 mill for the rest of the roster. That would require every other contract to be league minimum. That's unless they can somehow dump a sizeable contract without taking back cap it's going to be really difficult for them to match any swayman deal.

Don't forget that the salary cap roof will grow up for about 2 to maybe 4 millions as what Bettman have talk about.

On the 6 forward roster you have Bergeron and Krejci that could come back cheap, Frederic low cost also and Hathaway if returning would not cost that much which would left you with two spot left to fill. Is Bertuzzi returning and for how much ? That could potentially fill a spot and don't forget about young gun like Lysell of he's ready could be a good remplacement for low cost.

What could be done to help the cap is if Boston is able to trade the contract of Mike Reilly 3m remove from the book.

Reilly & Forbrot are $6 million cap hit (combined). Trade them for FC and you get $6 million in space. If you buy them out its a $1 million cap hit for next season and $5 million in added space. Taylor Hall is a $6 million cap hit and has played at a fringe 60pt pace since joining the Bruins. He does have a limited NTC, but doesn't mean he can't be traded. Just in those 3 guys you're looking at $11-$12 million if you took futures back (or nothing for Forbort & Reilly).
