Something i ignored the past few weeks when negotiating similar returns for PLD.

At this point it explains why WPG has been talking with Montreal during the season about a summer deal.
He's got no real chance at getting anything better then a 1st and a 3rd unless its via trade .
From WPG's POV if all they can get is a 1st and a 3rd it might be worth keeping PLD as a Rental.
The only issue is at this point he'll have signed an Offersheet and cant be traded so if it goes wrong they're handcuffed

Yeah I know I was personally against starting Slafkovsky in Montréal. These are kids, let them grow and develop. If Smith wants to go to NCAA. I would resign Monahan to a 1 year deal and try to have a good return at the deadline, assuming he’s healthy.
