Kyle Palmieri has been very good since returning from injury, Cam Atkinson didn’t play a single game this year. In what world would the isles make that swap one for one? Much less give up a pick to make the swap so we can get an injured player with retention smh.

Isles would pass. Atkinson will be 34 and coming off neck surgery, and Seeler is a 6th/7th D at best on a contender. Why would the Islanders give up a guy who's still somewhat productive (15-16-31 in 49 GP averages out to a 25-26-51 line over 82 GP) *and* a somewhat decent pick to save a measly $1.25M next season?

CBJ deal: Sure but think CBJ may not want to get rid of Boqvist
MIN deal: No for both sides
NYI deal: No for both sides, especially NYI
SEA deal: No for SEA

Eh, CBJ can do better for Boqvist. I wouldn’t want to include him in a Hayes trade. I still stand by a 2nd/3rd plus Foudy and/ Bemstrom.

CBJ aren’t trying to get rid of Boqvist, but with Jiricek coming, he’s likely to get squeezed out considering his high-offense play style.

Was about to say, isn’t there questions about whether Cam will even play again?

Which, I guess it means he could be a good LTIRetire guy for a team needing cap, but I wouldn’t move much (if anything) for him right now.

Yeah agree with you about Boqvist, I personally would like the Flyers to get him but it'd have to be more than just Hayes or maybe less/lower picks.

It would save 2 mill since Seeler would push someone else down. I’d do it for Pageau if that’s more of a cap dump for you. If Atkinson can play (which all signs point to), I think it could be considered. Point taken that it’s not enough in this one though.

I’ve seen posts on here that have been dumping him for space. I’d do the same thing for Pageau too. And would 2 mill in cap (potentially 5 with IR if I’m wrong about him playing) Wilde and a 3rd is really that high?

I wouldn’t dump either player because they are actually good at hockey lol.

Guess we will disagree. I don’t see you guys getting better to compete with the top of the division without dumping cap. They’re fine. Goods a pretty strong word.

Seattle's won't be trading their best RHD in Larsson for a severe, more expensive downgrade at the same position and a 4th round pick. Even with his improvement this season, I doubt Ristolainen has positive trade value. Larsson meanwhile has been half of the Kraken's foundational defensive pairing, so he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah. I imagine someone will still like Risto because people fall in love with the frame and think they can use him well. I just picked Seattle and a matching salary because I knew they aren’t strapped.

Risto would legitimately cost more than a first round pick to dump. That’s how bad he is. I celebrated when Philly handed him that contract.

Pageau has 36 points in 64 games. That’s good to you?

Palmieri has exact 23 points in his last 35 games. That’s not near a point per game. 68 points in 135 career games with the Islanders. That’s good?

Look, you can not like the trade but your opinion that they’re these amazing players and not overpaid is laughable. 10 mill you’d be better off paying elsewhere.

Fair enough Lmao. A lot of isles fans hopped on the bandwagon during the Covid shortened season. They don’t know their ass from their elbow.

I didn’t say they were amazing players. Don’t judge Pageau on his point total tho. He does a lot of **** that isn’t shown on hockeydb lol.

A team can only retain on 3 players, so you’re hamstringing the team to make any deadline moves to gain assets over the next few years.
