Jets shouldn't be giving up their first or rashevsky. Those assets could be better used for an asset that is young or picks to help recoup picks we've spent

The problem with Reinhart for us is he only has one year of team control left and the direction the team takes in the offseason is unknown yet. From a cap perspective we may not be able to make it work unless we move people out and if we move out Scheif and/or PLD then it only makes sense if he would be open to extending here.

I was thinking like a 50% retained Wheeler + Stanley for Knight and Mackie S. knight hasn’t been good at the NHL level, is currently in the substance abuse program and has a $4.5M hit for the next 3 years while Bob is still under contract. Sort of depends on how much of a dump you think Knight is.

As for the OP. The 1st, Stanley and either Rash or Danny to follow the typical pick, roster player, prospect return. The 5th round pick…. You know you’re reaching there as it won’t move the needle.

Reinhart would be nice, but he's not worth that much.

Not a single chance in the world do you get knight and samo for wheeler and Stanley. That’s a horrible trade for Florida.

Serron Noel looks very much like a bust, and Ludvig Jansson is a RhD and thus of little help or interest to us, so Los Angeles declines.

So you think Knight is good and isn’t a big cap dump. All good. I haven’t really seen him play at all. I just saw save percentages of .908 and .901 with a $4.5m caphit and a guy in the substance abuse program and thought he was maybe an expensive reclamation project. If he’s not a cap dump that’s my bad. Just thought that $14.5M in goalies isn’t an optimal way to build a team especially when one of them is playing at replacement level.

He’s 21 years old on a bad defensive team. He’s absolutely not a cap dump. And it wasn’t substance abuse program it was eap problem so that’s different. They ain’t trading him for crap. They will hold onto him and wait for him to grow. He’s young and still has all the potential. Plus he has one of the highest dangerous shot save percentage in the league before he went out.
