NYR have/ can clear cap to match whatever you throw at us. But you can have Kane back thou, who needs him...

Besides I be surprised if NYR gets far enough into the post season for you to get the first round pick, so that's that

I don’t think you have enough to sign Miller and Laf without (at the 4.2 AAV that would get a 2nd in offersheet comp) without a corresponding move. If you could visualize your statement with a post I would be happy to eat my words.

What would you send over to take Goodrow off your hands? Gotta be better than dead cap to 2031.

As I remember the dead cap was only over 3 m the same year Panarin and Trouba contract ends. Then it is around 1.25 M. Besides it is not NYR without lengthy dead cap window, so I be fine with that. Wouldn't pay much to dump the contract to be honest. Another problem is Goodrow much accept the trade and don't think he pack his bags for CHI or any other none contending team.

I'll need to double check, but I thought it was a 15 team list. So yes, CHI specifically would need to be accepted, but he might not have the SJS on his list. All depends. I'm a bit surprised you wouldn't give a 2nd to shed 4 years of Goodrow. I'm not saying he's terrible, it's more surprised because that 2nd would ensure the NYR run doesn't get interrupted. Laf, KK, Miller...all huge pieces for a long run. Goodrow....not so much.

I guess maybe after an offer sheet actually get made...unlikely one gets sent anyway. Why make a move like that until forced.

The Rangers won't need to give up a 2nd to get rid of Goodrow, there are teams out there that would take his contract bc they view him as a useful piece. Buffalo is a team i'd look at in that respect, and given they're on an upward trajectory, i could see Goodrow waiving to go there

Also that still leaves you needing a 2LD, backup G, a full 4th line and 2-3 stratches with 9 mill

yes and buying out Goodrow gives us 16 M to sign them both and money over to fill out the roster.
you are not in an advantage point here.

I'll go down to 4 on a shorter deal for Miller. that leaves 7.8 for 5 guys. Find me those 5 guys to fill out 3 forward, a LHD, and a goalie that doesn't leave you in a bad spot. You're not finding a better D than lilligren without it coming closer to 5 for orlov/graves

You're the one who said to trade lindgren. Yes it is possible to get under the cap. But it leaves your depth in shambles
