Neither Matthews nor Marner has enough term to be a good fit for our rebuild, and no other Maple Leaf is sufficiently interesting for us to consider surrendering Trevor Zegras. Number one centers don't grow on trees, and ours was the steal of the 2019 draft -- he'd surely go second instead of ninth if that selection were held today.

Hmmm Zegras or Seider second overall? I think it would be a close call.

Quality would be needed rather than quantity to prise Byram out of the Avs. That offer is to be quite frank....garbage.
