3 Year Plan All Laid Out No Future Picks

Created by: Rankers
Team: 2024-25 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 5, 2023
Published: Apr. 5, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No need to rush for a cup just yet in Anaheim, by this time in 3 years, Zegras will most likely be around his prime, similar to Terry. With youngs guns likes Drysdale, McTavish, Pastujov, Mintyukov, and Zellweger, there shouldn't be rush and an obsession with spending on big name free agent forwards. They still need a #1 defenseman who can support Drysdale and that's why Toews would be great. Another signing to look towards would be Hellebuyck as the I can imagine he would rather spend the latter of his prime in sunny California over Winnipeg.

Leadership: With Henrique, and Fowler still being on the roster (Henrique most likely in his final year), I think making leadership positions eminent would be good.

Captain: Cam Fowler, he has done his time, is a great player, and with only 2 years left on his deal... It opens up the possibility up for McTavish, to take over eventually.

Assistant Captains: Trevor Zegras, Troy Terry, Adam Henrique, Max Jones.

Projections:

Year 1 - 2023-24

Top 3 Last in the league, Zegras leads the team with 75 Points, Draft Pick top 3.

Year 2 - 2024-25

Around the 19 - 22 range in the standings but still a clear push away from playoffs. Zegras Leads the team with 79 Points.

Year 3 - 2025-26

Competing for a playoff spot, around 15-18 Range in the standings, a wild card spot would be preferable. Leading scorer Trevor Zegras gets 89 Points on the year.

So many good young centermen, doubt in 3 years he will be on this team, could possibly give them a late round pick or a scratch/project prospect.

Jost has been a good bottom 6 player with a reasonable contract and team control. Buffalo is not going to give him up for a late round pick.

So the blues are going to run Binnington and Gibson in net? Two goalies who have severely underperformed. And the blues are giving up a PPG winger on a good contract? Yeah I don't see how the blues don't hang up immediately on the Ducks

My prediction is that in 3 years, Jordan Binnington will either be bought out, or will have quit hockey to pursue his life long dream of being the main character in a TV Drama show

That’s an awful trade for the Ducks. (The Gibson one).

The difference between the 2 goalies is the defense and attitude.

Gibson is a goalie who is super competitive.

Binnington is a 2 year old, throwing temper tantrums all the time and is a locker room cancer. There is no way the ducks would want a goalie like that, (especially with Verbeek at GM.)

Gibson has a AHL defense in front of him. (Literally) Besides Fowler

Binnington has a very good defense in front of him. Faulk, Parakyo, and Krug. +2 defensive minded guys with Scandella and Bortuzzo.

Wow. You haven't a single clue what you're on about, do ya? Very authoritatively said, though!

For staying the course and see the rebuild through, you sure made a lot of changes, most of which I don't agree with.

However, Bucky to SoCal is a nice idea, if the Kings can land him they should. Problem for Winnipeg is I don't think his heir apparent has surfaced yet.

The blues defense is in the top 3 of allowing high danger chances in the league. They were in the bottom 10 last year. They are routinely out chanced for the last 2 years. The blues are retooling/rebuilding and are not going to spend assets on an older goalie. It makes 0 sense for them to trade a high price for a Goalie when their defense will still suck next year. Parakyo isn't as good as he was, Faulk took a huge step back, Krug sucks and defending, Leddy is a borderline top 4 defensemen. We have a horrible defense. It's a horrible trade for the blues because it doesn't meet their needs, doesn't move the needle and wastes assets. I don't know much about the ducks and what they want so don't know if this is good for them or not, but this is a horrible deal for the blues
