JT Miller has 297 points in 282 games. The second highest point per game total as a Canuck behind Pavel Bure. JT Miller the one time the Canucks made the playoffs since he arrived had 18 points in 17 games and had a positive +/-, CF% Rel, and FF% rel.And we got this guy for Mukhamadulin or the 2020 first that's technically on its third team, a third rounder and Marek Mazanec?

JT Miller is a winning hockey player that actually has the balls to show some emotion. The guy still cares how the team is playing in the 82nd game of a meaningless season. Just because Drance thinks he's toxic and is certain that his contract won't age well doesn't mean we all have to become Miller haters and blame him for the Canucks fall back down to earth this season. Fans hate him because it's convenient, media writes articles about him to get traffic to their page because they've brainwashed fans into thinking he's the sole issue wrong with this team. Sure he has his questionable moments like banging his stick on the net and yelling at Delia, but THE ENTIRE BENCH WAS TOO. Again it's convenient because that's where the camera was.

I think we know who the real problem was though, and luckily management had the right idea to trade him. His leadership, his scoring, and his overall emotion was nothing compared to Miller's, I'll tell you that for free. How many times did he just stand there after one of his teammates got destroyed, doing nothing. The Podkolzin hit where OEL had to step in, or the Garland crosscheck to the face where he just stood there watching. Horvat has always been a passive leader, while Miller has been the more vocal, active one.

In terms of some of the contracts around the league, Miller is making less than Horvat, Eichel, Huberdeau, Zibanejad, Couture, and Hertl. While producing at nearly the same rate, the one exception being Zibanejad. You aren't getting a player in this market for less than that.

The fact that Miller has even generated double the value that we acquired him for shows how much he's done for this team. Regardless of whether Seravelli is accurate or not on what PIT offered, I still think Miller is worth more than a 3C, the 14th overall pick and another future pick, especially if the Canucks want to commit to the retool.

Garland is a prime candidate guy that the Canucks move on from. His cap hit would allow us to sign Gavrikov or Bear in the offseason and bolster our D core while allowing a guy like Podkolzin or Hoglander to play. The same could be said about Beauvillier who is making almost a mil less. Wherever Garland goes, I think he fetches at least a third and a fourth.
