he's down with a shoulder injury and too soft down the line to be a top key player. Also drafting 4th instead of 6th and pay our other 1st is a huge price ... So yeah no Thx i'd rather draft Reindbacher and Wood if we are not a top1 or 2 team!

Price is too high.

With a year left and the habs haveing 10+ million to work with after signing caufield and filling out the roster they dont need to pay to dump hoffman.

Neither prospect moves the needle they dont need more non impact players.

If the habs acquire a later mid 20s 1st to use instead and carlsson was at 4 that would be a different story

Youd rather draft Reinbacher at #6 over Michkov or Carlsson at #4 for the price of a 17th pick? Id give up the next 3 years of 1st rounders to ensure we dont select Reinbacher in the 1st round and to get bloody MICHKOV

not going in the top 4 players cuz at 6th they will be gone. If so I wonder who from Reinbacher and Smith is the greatest deal, as for 17th it's WOOD no matter what!

Thats why youd trade 17 and 6 to get 4. Carlsson or Michkov are better than Reinbacher or Smith and Wood

Not on the long term. Reinbacher can be a fit to settle our d-core, and Wood as a better scoring chance thant anyone no named Bedard in this draft.

Theres no way youre not trolling. You just said Wood could be a better scorer than Fantilli, Michkov, Carlsson

Also on Reinbacher, hes no better than Barron or Mailloux and if he is its marginal. Not a top 2 guy and the habs dont need more top 4 guys

yes as Caufield will be over his draft year. Wood has one if not the second best shot of this draft but he is not a complete hockey player yet. The guy would be on an higher ranking if he was better on puck control and shifting d-man he would be among top 5 this year. The guy is already top 20 but could land close to the top 10, he is Caufield with size. He is one of those that can be a surprise pick in this draft. Don't get me wrong but with our 1st ronder i'm trying to get the BPA and both Reinbacher and Wood are special. If we land 1st overall or 2nd it's no brainer that Bedard and Fantilli are on my radar, but for all the other, both Wood and Reinbacher are higher on my list than any other one proposed or actually ranked by experts. When we drafted Caufield I was hysteric and crying of pure joy (and laughing out loud about Flyers fans reaction), I do think that Wood will be close to such shot acument that we lack soooo much (not greater than Caufield, but yeah better than Carlsson).

Reinbacher 2 way game and stick handling is higher than both Barron and Mailloux, yeah he is on par for offensive trait, but his 2 way game and block shot position are better. Yeah another top 4, but still a need in our d-core future. I can see him pan out as a 2nd d-man if the chemistry match can apply to one of our top 2-3 in Ghule, Engstrom or Hutson. Since we only have Tourigny left in the minor we need to take a chance. Last year I was high on Yager and Dvorsky, now i'm more incline to seek out special talent and skillset, cuz with what I have witness this season, we need key element to 'fuse' (i don't know if it's the right wording here) our team toolset.

I wish we could land Pittsburgh or Vancouver 1st to have a chance to have Reinbacher and Wood then that we land Fantilli through the loto, I would jump of joy to have such skilled players among our draftee. I know i'm no expert but after almost 20 years to see Habs management or doing AGM (even before it was possible on the net), I have developp my own approach. We can agree to disagree and I wouldn't be mad at all.

As i've checked back on the net someone has Wood higher than anyone
https://youtu.be/rd1qXZSjvNY?t=626

There is also this text talking about him : https://nanaimonewsnow.com/2023/04/18/nanaimos-matthew-wood-climbs-in-final-nhl-entry-draft-rankings/#:~:text=Right%2Dwinger%20Matthew%20Wood%2C%20a,this%20summer's%20NHL%20entry%20draft.

He is now a top 10. (Guess that i've seen something that even experts are now seeing) !!
