Honestly the moves make sense but I wouldn't be resigning Gurianov and I am not sure if Farrell can play center at this level. Also the D is all messed up, pairings would be Matheson-Guhle, Harris-Savard, Xhekaj-Barron with Rutta as a scratch unless we move Harris. If Harris is also moved we would Guhle would flip back to the 2LD slot and our RD would all move up one slot with Rutta as 3RD.

Since the Dubois trade happens in the 23-24 year and Dvorak 8 team no trade list kicks in, what are the chances that WPG is on the 8 team list?

Not sure why Montreal qualifies Gurianov and buries Hoffman, but I get the logic of these trades.

Don't NTCs only kick in after the draft on the NHL calendar? Player contracts roll over to the next season during the free agency period which is after the draft.

So I guess this site should not allow trading of 2023 draft picks in the 2023-24 year

Oh. I was thinking it would cost like a 7th. If he is going to be buried or bought out, it would save MTL money to move him. 2.25MM in cap savings IS the payment. The Pens probably wouldn't trade a higher end prospect.

I don't know Murashov at all, I just saw he was a 4th round pick and a goalie (something we need more depth at). I think Hoffman at 2.25 mil has value, the problem is he doesn't have value at 4.5 and Hughes wouldn't retain on multi year deals.

Gotcha. Yeah he is a young goalie but just made the all star team in his league (MHL). He had potential to be a good goalie.

I would agree Hoffman has value at 2.25MM and less so at 4.5MM. It is only one year of retention though.

It depends on how much MTL wants to get rid of him.
