Falls? I'd be stunned if he went before like 12th. And honestly, he probably should go in the 20's. One of the poorest skaters if not the poorest among top prospects, he has a one zone game and for a big guy he doesn't really go to the dirty areas much. On top of all that, a scoring winger is the last thing the Blues need from this draft. Nothing about him makes sense for them. Everybody else is welcome to slow Mike Hoffman.

His skating is not bad...and as a 17-old in a league of 22-24 year olds, he played very well down low. Give him two years and another 20-30 lbs and he could be Tage 2.0

Bruh... what??? Setting aside that stretch of a comp, it has been widely discussed how poor a skater he is. It's well known and agreed, and it's agreed because it's accurate. I can't say that I've ever seen a scouting report that didn't mention his poor skating at some length.


Edit: I just checked Pronman's last ranking. Seven players out of 34 were rated as below average by NHL standards. Wood is the only one rated as poor.

I read many of the same scouting reports, including Pronman’s, and find them useful for players I don’t watch. But I have seen UConn a lot this year. He looks like a thin, undeveloped teenager playing among men, which he is. The skating will be fine.

What his skating looks like against college players and what his skating will look like against NHLers are two very different animals. Everyone rates his skating as poor. Like... what else do you need? He's going to be the worst skater taken in the 1st round, if not the first 50 or so picks. Maybe even two rounds. This is an ice cold take, man.

Detroit takes Oliver Moore at 9th he's Dylan Larkin 2.0 only faster and will probably be the better scorer.
