No thanks on Granlund....will cost more to consider 2 years of rapidly declining player and 11 million real dollars owed. Not using one of 2 remaining retension spots to get only a 4th. If I am retaining on Dickinson, it is at the deadline to get a 2nd because he had a productive season and someone is desperate. Otherwise save the 2 retension spots for Tyler Johnson (if he can stay healthier), Murphy, maybe Zaitsev if he rebounds (a lot) or whoever this years UFA pump and flip guy is like Domi last year.

A third is certainly enough to move Granlund. No need for the 5th.

No chance anyone takes on that contract for a 3rd. It'd cost a 2nd at the very least.

Exact response I expect from someone thinking they can dump a 5 mil cap hit with 2 years remaining for only a 3rd.

Granlund just went for a 2nd which people didn’t know how to feel about but if that 2nd was a 3rd or even 4th people would think we got a steal. Sometimes players don’t fit a team, look at Brassard with the Pens, that doesn’t make them complete negative value where we now have to give up at least a 2nd. Let’s be real here, I’m not saying he’s worth a pick in return but the fact that you’re looking at him and arguing over a 3rd for a dude who just had value a couple months ago doesn’t make much sense. It’s recency bias

Everyone knew that was a terrible trade when it happened. There were reports that other gms laughed at hextall for that trade. He's a pure cap dump. It'll cost atleast a 2nd but probably more

Thats fine to debate what his value should be or may be around the rest of the league, but we are talking about a rebuilding team, if they are taking on $11m of salary over 2 years they are going to want to get paid. Granlund holds no benefit to CHI other than the possibility of being able to flip him 18 months later in the hope you could get a return (too risky).
