So was checking out the calculator for buyout and sens eat salary on the cap if he’s bought out? Wings would be on the hook for like 680k on the salary next season and 2 mill the following season if he’s bought out after a deal. Real salary would be 5 million

Says initial base salary is 8 million? Don’t know too many teams who’d touch Murray if a deal were too occur I wouldn’t be sending picks back. I’d only consider Murray and a 1st if we’d be able to trade a 2nd with is to move from like 28-32 to jump up to like 21 and get someone we like who were still surprised to be there.

I’m high on wood and he’s my target other than winning the lottery obviously lol . Not too thrilled with new rankings having wood as 4th North American skater

I was a bit surprised he was so high on central scouting list

How many puckmoving D are Yzerman planning to have in Detroits future lineup? I like Reinbacher a lot, but we already have Seider, Edvinsson and Wallinder who are offensive minded and should be paired with a defensive defenseman. Shouldn’t 3 puckmoving D be enough? How many do other teams have?

Can you ever have too many puck moving D? They can for the most part handle defensive responsibilities as well, not like they are one dimensional so don’t see how it’s an issue

I feel like trading for Murray would signal to the team and fans that we've given up on the season. Not a good look.

Couldn’t disagree more. Do you think that’s the signal Toronto sent to fans when they acquired him?

He’s got so much upside , was hoping he’d be the “stevie” shock this draft. Youngest player in ncaa I believe averaging a pt a game most since Jonathan toews I think I heard? Not 100% ... 6’3 seen him listed as a center as well as wing so he might be able to play the position?can shoot , right shot . I dont know had my sights on him ... was thinking with the islanders pick when we had a shot at 14th pick and was even thinking moving up from 18 but now I don’t know if he’ll be there so I’m like **** it take who you like

I looked at him like Ritchie or Danielson that I thought we could steal at 18 but sure doesn't look like it now.

Nope, we aren’t moving our first this draft and certainly not to dump Petry

This is a worse trade than a late 1st and Oskar Sundqvist for Ryan Reaves. The 14 overall in this draft is worth a ton (and that's if they dont move up with the lottery). At least they moved up from the terrible offers from last Summer of Petry at a year younger and a 1st for nothing!
Habs proceeded to get top pair Matheson instead. That gives you an idea of the delusion.
Some Wings fans are unhinged!

I’m willing to move up man as enticing as those 3 2nds are if we moved say pick 18 and 43 for 11 it’s basically hronek for pick 11 . I’d do it although i’d Love to keep those 3 consecutive picks.

Not my money man but **** I suggested taking carter from pens to move up 4 picks. I’d do that . Murray for pick 28-32 alone and adding another possibility of moving up ? I’d do it . We never really weaponized our cap space , maybe it might have been cause of money who knows, sadly I have a feeling if mike illitch was still here we’d have taken advantage . Leafs dealing marleau for cap space with a 1st , I’d have easily said here take a 4th or 5th round back , same with monahan to habs with a 1st . I’d be doing everything to add those 1sts

Especially since it’s all for one year of pain which we can afford. I’d be doing that this off season. Heck even if it’s someone we think might help for a year who’s overpaid grab a 2nd and use that pick to move up from 18 and keep 41-42-43 picks intact.

L.a has Cal Peterson in the minors for 2 years his actual salary is 5 and 6 mill so I’m sure we can land a 2024 1st, maybe 2023 2nd If we flipped back like a 4th .... use that 2nd to move up , maybe demand a turcotte, spence, grans instead and make Peterson and husso the 2some for two years. He sucks bury him

Got sidetracked but point is we can afford to make those types of moves for 1-2 years cause we’ll have so many cheap contracts coming up for years. Time to speed up this ****
