I can't see ANA giving up Zellweger in this deal.

Anaheim wouldn't have much interested in Tanev. He's still pretty good but he's too old for Anaheim's timeline. Lindholm won't be traded unless he won't extend in Calgary if that happens Comtois and the 1st just might be enough to get him but they'll probably get better offers.

Bo Horvat trade yielded 1st rd pick, top prospect, and a productive middle six player. Lindholm holds similar value to Horvat, maybe more due to his two-way game. Zellweger is a better prospect than Raty sure but including Tanev in the deal gives Anaheim a legit shut down guy to groom their young d-core. Leafs got Luke Schenn for a 3rd and McCabe/Lafferty for a 1st... Tanev is better than both. If Anaheim wants to compete, they could do alot worse.

If anyone wants Lindholm, a 1st and top prospect is where the conversation would begin.

No thanks. You might get Markstrom for that except he wouldn't waive for Anaheim.

You just compared the Horvat trade made by playoff contender NYI to this. They’re not even close to similar. Why would ANA trade high value futures for 2 UFAs? Make it make sense

It's a comparison of value. "If Anaheim wants to compete, they could do alot worse." Doesn't sound like you have much confidence in the Ducks retaining valuable players...

No I just understand that this trade makes zero sense for the ducks.
