Winnipeg trade would be awful for the isles. The D is much worse

You have to give to get. And to be honest I'm sick of Dobson. Orlov is double the player he is age aside.

I was between him and Ehlers. And if they go full nuke/rebuild I don't see why he wouldn't be on the table.

You can’t fix your offense by destroying ur defense. Orlov will age like all 31 year old defenseman who sign a new deal do, poorly.

Of course you’re sick of Dobson, you also wanted to dump Toews.

Orlov is not double the player, he’s also one of the worst Pp QB in the NHL. What is orlov better at than Dobson?

I remember all the fans on here who wanted to dump Toews to give Mike Hoffman a big contract

Dobson needs to make decisions a little quicker than he did in the second half of the year, but I think that has a lot to do with how he was used. Mayfield being gone should help him. Lane will have no choice but to trust him.

He has flaws for sure, he’s still one of the better young offensive defenseman in the league. His defensive game is an issue, but so is Romanovs and Pulocks but you don’t hear anything about that.

Last season Dobson was one of the better puck carrying defenseman in the NHL, especially at exiting the zone
. Also a dual threat, great at passing and shooting the puck.

I would be agreeable to that Winnipeg trade IF we got more out of Dobson
Dobson was a 1st round pick and I think he would carry more weight to him because he's underpaid for what he brings and hes only 22/23, a ton of upside for the future
I'd want KC plus a pick & a defenseman. Maybe include another piece going to Winnipeg to sweeten the deal but idk what else the Isles would give for that

Connor is only 26, with multiple years of term, and is a bonafide 30 goal scorer. Probably 40 goal guy on that line. I take the deal straight up all day long

Scoring wingers are a lot easier to find than young high end RHD

Connor will be 27 YO a few months into the season and his goal scoring would decline on the isles.

Can you explain how trading Dobson for Connor makes the isles better and how would you evaluate connors defensive play and every other part of his game other than shooting the puck?

The fact that the isles made one of the worst trades in NHL history (Toews for two 2nds) and we’re talking about trading a 23 YO elite offensive defenseman who hasn’t entered his prime is absurd.

A case study should be done on isles fans and their history of evaluating defenseman. I could pull up multiple ACGM dumping Devon Toews and arguing he was nothing more than a 3rd pair D
