It will take a 1st or high end prospect and 3rd for Sway and no goalie coming back.

Swap out Neuchev for Savoie, and make it a 2013 first.

Seems like that would be an unprecedented return for an RFA goalie with no contract who has never been #1 or even 1A IMO. I looked at Vanacek to NJ as a reference.

Also, I think you would have a difficult time matching a 3x4.2 AAV offersheet which would only net a 2nd. I could be wrong though I'm not an NHL GM haha

You are gonna get roasted for those trades.

Also, savoie and kulich already signed elcs. You don't have to create

Not right now, just like John Marino wasn't at this time last year. Not saying he will definitely get moved, but there are often surprise defensemen that get moved in the offseason and he could be a candidate being on a team with FO turnover. You'd know better than me tho

Asking for savioe is unrealistic IMO, I'd be willing to negotiate on the year of the first though.

Maybe, but every fan also has unrealistic expectations for a return on their players.

Swayman is a quality 1B goaltender w/o a contract on a historically great team. Andersson is a very nice Top 4 defensemen, but lets not act like he is a franchise level player here. We have to at least be a little honest with ourselves sometimes.

Cant put them both in the same position though..

Swayman ranks 31st is starts over the last 2 seasons, so saying he's never even been a 1A is laughable.

Vanecek when traded to Washington was 26yrs old and had a 2.68 GAA / .908 SV% / 6 SO. Swayman is 24yrs old and has a 2.24 GAA / .920 SV% / 9 SO

^The only comparable of the two is they both play goalie.

As for the OS, Boston easily matches a $4.2 million offer and either moves Ullmark or takes a hit elsewhere.

I like that Minny trade. Would prefer a 2023 5th if that's as high as we can go pick-wise.

The Crux of the issue with Anderson is that he isn't close to his prime yet and by virtue of his position is in higher demand. Moreover, he is on a very friendly deal with term still. Even if you are rebuilding/retooling, there isn't much incentive to trade him unless the deal is significantly above market. Of all the teams Calgary could/should trade with Buffalo seems the most logical though. Calgary has a lot of pieces that could provide that added depth/leadership for Buffalo to make the playoffs. Buffalo also has a deep prospect pool which will be vying for roster spots.

One of them has played behind a historically great team too. Make it UPL and a second MAYBE, but saying a "High-end prospect" or a first + is silly IMO. But again, I'm not an NHL GM and I don't spend all day every day creating valuations on players and scheming trades. I made this on my lunchbreak in 15 minutes as something I'd like to see tears of joy

And I think admitting that fitting in a 4.2 AAV contract will require you to trade the likely vezina winner this year or "take a hit elsewhere" immediately disqualifies it from being "easy to match".

Paton got a 1st for and Kuraly for Martin Jones after he played 34 career games as a backup. Sway has been co #1 for the last 2 years and is much better than Jones.

Zero problem matching that OS

Boston was a wildcard team last year. And no, it doesn't disqualify it. Boston doesn't think twice about matching an OS.
