David Savard is not on the market. As for the return Montreal was interested in Noah Ostlund at the draft.

I think its a fair bet the guy they try to trade for this off season hasnt been mentioned in the rumour mill yet. A whole bunch of guys become available in the lead up to the draft, publicly or privately.

Very confident they wont deal nadeau for Savard.

Also I thought driedger was basically done?

Took his cap for the 2nd Rounder. I believe his cap counts during the offseason since there's no LTIR so this allows SEA to do what they need - (i.e. keep almost all their guys or trade for and sign the cat (but then we poach Soucy - muaha)

oh snap good comeback.

You mean the tape where Montreal were terrible defensively and finished last in the division? Yeah saw that movie, was pretty bad. But Savard definitely had nothing to do with that and is worth a 1st rounder.

Then we have no problem my friend -- we keep Savard as a leader to mentor the kids and you find yourself a good solid and stable RHD. Case closed. That was simple.

Nadeau is one of those prospects I don’t see being moved, especially not for less than a long-term solution for Owen Power’s defense partner. It wouldn’t surprise me if the guy they are targeting is someone nobody thought they would, or thought would be available. Nobody really thought the Sabres would want anything to do with Riley Stillman, but he looked decent down the stretch. Maybe the price they’re willing to pay involves pieces people haven’t thought about either.

That was a good banter. Love to play physical hockey in my ACGM comments but it's nothing personal -- just a friendly argument.

But seriously I don't understand why people only focus on advanced stats when we can combine both advanced stats and real-time situational hockey. I remember watching a game where Savard played like a beast and after the game his advanced stats were showing that he was awful. I don't get it. Numbers have to be questioned, put in their context as opposed to taking them at face value.

I dont typically like to evaluate a single game based on analytics for that exact reason. Too many variables for a sample size of one game. My problem is Savard's last 3 seasons as a whole. All his underlying numbers are bad, in a sample size of 3000 minutes. It is fair to question and to perhaps put into context his usage, whether he was playing hurt etc. But 3000 even strength minutes where his shot quality for/against looks that bad and at absolute minimum you have to ask the question "how much value is he really bringing to the table?"

His 2021-22 season was below average to be honest, but in 2022-23 he was a stable presence defensively and he was very efficient to blocks shots. I'd be curious to know if his stats improved this season compared to the previous season.

You either get Hockey , or you dont.

No need for any further discussions
It exposed you as not understanding the context of Stats overall outside Goal scored and Goals Saved , that's as far as your depth goes .
Dude's a solid #4/5 D who played the #1 or #2 role for basically 2 years now cause everyone else is Injured
His stats took a hit after his Stanley Cup Championship because of it

I could def see the Sabres shopping Ostlund. They have too many good forward prospects rn and there simply isn't room for them all. Sabres should try to send Ostlund or Rosen with a 1st rounder and maybe something else to a rebuilding or starting to rebuild team and get a very solid top 4 d man coming back the other way.

your misinterpretation of my post is your issue. Im citing Savard's analytics. His possession numbers, expected goals against, and other assorted metrics that have nothing to do with goals for or against.
