Lindholm returns a better package and COL under no circumstances is moving the 23 1st for a rental which Lindholm would be.

I would think they are absolutely in a position to start risking it to win it, at some point you have to realize you gotta start going all in and sacrificing futures like this.
But sure maybe that time isn’t now and I could get behind that but that first would likely have to be moved to fix 2C

This season is the exact reason you don’t do it. I think people forget how much COL traded away the last couple few seasons and still how young their core is. The only thing worse than not being a cup contender now and in the next 4-5 years would be to so empty the cupboard that there is zero chance of adding talent without massively over paying for it. They already passed on the 22 draft, traded 3 top d prospects, have traded away their 2nd rd picks until like 2026. But all of that might be moot if they find out Landeskog is going to be out next year and whatever happens to Nichushkin.
