Wild Sharks Trade

Created by: sharcuda22
Team: 2023-24 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: May 9, 2023
Published: May 9, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I hope the sharks do a fat tear down and draft Michkov
Retain half on Karlsson and Couture for big returns
Bridge Bordelau and Thrun
Sign Eklund Muk to bigger long term deals if they perform
Couture, Vlassic and Karlsson contracts are done before we have to resign michkov and our 2024 first rounder. Thoughts?

It does seem unrealistic because too creative for NHL teams to do. Also couture has expressed willingness to stay with sharks

Dont mind lines n such I just dont like the empty spaces

As a sharks fan. There's absolutely no way Guerin goes for that. Wallstedt is their goalie of the future. Plus you're adding another 1st round pick. 2 1sts for Logan even with 4m retained is nuts.

Honestly it could be wallstedt or Gustafson. We are filling 2 big needs for the wild by giving them a cheap 1/2 C who is a monster in the playoffs. Perhaps I was too ambitious in my ask, but what do you think about something like this as an option for the sharks. Idk if I want a fat teardown, or if there is a way for us to be competitive + then add michkov on top of that

No, it's unrealistic because the value is utterly atrocious.

Yeah I'm a Sharks fan and this would be brutal for the Wild. Yurov is nasty as well

Maybe Rossi and a Second, but this is way too much.

Wallstedt is going nowhere. Gus would be traded first if his contract ask is egregious. There’s no question the org is keeping wallstest long term

I would be fine substituting Gus for wallstedt in this, my ask was definitely too big based on community feedback, probably a lesser prospect than Yurov as well

Couture has 3-team trade list…so the bidding would be restricted to those 3 teams. At $4m, he will return a haul…but not this much.

yeah and I dont really think couture wants to leave San Jose either, and that is what I gathered, gus instead of wallstedt and someone worse than yurov

Probably like Gus, Adam beckman who is a shooter and good 2 way player and maybe a late 2nd or 3rd. But a legit #1 goalie and solid prospect is a good return for you freeing up that kind of term and cap.

That being said I couldn’t picture Guerin ever taking on this Tim yep of term or cap hit for a player not in their 20’s. Unless it was like Crosby. Etc

Maybe Hertl could get you closer to Yurov+Wallstedt. But 7 years of retained salary would be nuts.

If MIN really wanted to do this deal, I think Rossi + 2023 1st would get it done for 4mill retained on Couture

Yeah tbh I was more thinking about the bones of the deal and if a tried like this could work out. Definitely I got the value wrong

Goalies are tricky. Would probably be better off grabbing a guy like Vladar for a late pick, signing a guy like Blackwood, developing Makiniemi and Chrona (or Mann or that Russian they just signed).

Even good young teams still have a work in progress in net. (See Chicago early 2010’s, Colorado now)
