Does Ross Colton or a 2&3 give TB a better chance to win now? If the answer is Colton ( which it is ) this trade is refused.

Well you know who gives them an even better chance.. Alex Killorn. You know who they can't resign if they decide to sign Colton.. Alex Killorn.

Why? They need to move on from Bailey and it's either attaching a 2nd rounder to him or this. If the isles want to win now (which they seem to since they gave Horvat 8x8) they need cap to sign veteran guys. Bolduc won't even have a shot to flourish in that Isles d-core filled with Pulock,Pelech,Romanov,Dobson,Aho and Mayfield.

Hawks will take the 2nd. They don't need any more left shot D. Vlasic will be on top pair w/ Seth to start next season. And Hawks don't make that Edmonton trade either. Murphy w/ 3 years of retention starts w/ a 1st rounder. And yes, I see Bourgault in the deal

Killorn like Palat last year is gone
If Killorn were going to sign a ridiculously cheap homer deal it would be done already

Yams,Bourgault and a 2nd should be worth somewhere around a 1st no? Yams without the high cap (which isn't a factor for Chicago this year) would be worth a second, so is Bourgault and the 2nd already there. Edmontons first in either year will probably be around 25-32 so wouldn't Chicago rather add more depth to a weak pool as they can use their own picks for top-end talent?

The 2nd for Bolduc argument I can see go either way. Bolduc is a great fit on a team that lacks any sort of offensive firepower on the back-end outside of Jones. Vlasic can def still come up, but can replace Tindori instead.

Bailey has 1 more year.....He has no shot at playing on the Isles roster. So the isles either buy him out or he rides the bus in Bridgeport. No need to move a high pick for him at all. Secondly, Bolduc is very much in the Isles future. He will be the isles starting 3rd pair LD. He's a big body with a shot. He's the perfect mold on what the isles want (i.e Pullock, Dobson).

Yam's is overpaid and undersized. Not exactly a prize. His one 20 goal season seems like more of an outlier than who he is as a player. He needs to play w/ McDavid or Drai to be productive - Hawks obviously don't have anyone like that. Can't see the Hawks attaching much value to him. If Oilers feel he has 2nd round value, take him out of the deal and trade him elsewhere. So now the trade is Bourgault and a late 2nd, which might get Murphy w/ no retention, but w/ retention for 3 years, it's definitely at least a 1st and Bourgault. As for Bolduc, the Hawks have 6 left shot D prospects aged 23 or less who they are high on. Vlasic and Phillips definitely start the season in the NHL next season, and maybe Roos as well. Trust me when I tell you, the Hawks aren't trading for a left D.
