Question does Maloney hear ZITO laughing hysterically before the phone disconnects?

You really think Ekbald is waiving for Flames? Seattle has lots of Dmen and don't need to add to their cap and give up a first

Think your going to find it very hard to move a 33 year old D for a 1st plus a NHL ready young RD

    Ekblad is better than hanifan
    Reinhart is better than toffoli
I’d say duke and dube are close to even. His injury hasn’t helped much. And cole doesn’t really help that much. Panthers decline quickly

Why wouldn’t he!? He’s Canadian and had a down season after losing his LD in Weegar, to which he would be reunited and would also have Reinhart, Duclair and Huberdeau for familiarity. The main reason I think he wouldn’t is because the weather’s nicer in FLA

Yeah, I just needed Cap Space, so like I said, anywhere where we can move Tanev for a 1st + low cost RD (TOR for a 1st + Timmins OR DAL for a 1st + Hakanpaa 50% Ret., etc.)

Sorry, the is really bad logic about Ekblad. He's on a team going to the Conference Final likely, so it's not like he's missed Weager that much. In the Eastern Conference with a easier travel schedule than Calgary. His family can visit much easier in any Eastern Conference city rather than Calgary. I can't confirm it, but is has been reported he's built a mansion in Windsor

FLA need an LD and Hanifin @ $4.95 next season, then $6.5 x 8yrs after that VS. Ekblad @ $7.5 with only 2 years remaining might appeal to them

Reinhart wasn’t better than Toffoli this year. This saves them $750k and Reinhart will be very expensive to re-sign compared to Toffoli or maybe going Younger after next season

Dube is on his way to producing just as much as Duclair and is an RFA, whereas Duclair is a pending UFA, Older and will be looking for a higher raise than Dube, who Plays Centre and Kill Penalties as well, things Duclair does not

I don’t think FLA wanted to part with Schwindt, so they get him back as a low cost NHL Ready Prospect as well

Maybe Swap Schwindt out for Ruzicka instead!? Can’t be that far off, but FLA is doing well in the Playoffs, so they may not want to make major moves again this off-season, but then again, they didn’t perform in the regular season like they did last season

Oh and CGY could hire Andrew Brunette to be their Coach, which might appeal to them as well

Maybe, but it’s not impossible. Tanev is well known and respected in the league as a Top Shut Down Defensemen

I mean Ekblad was pretty shocked and hurt when the Trade Happened: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/nhl-panthers-aaron-ekblad-opens-up-about-florida-calgary-blockbuster-trade-135614424.html

He does have an injury history and trade rumours were swirling around him back in December: https://thehockeywriters.com/panthers-aaron-ekblad-shell-former-self-2022-23/

Not saying he wants out of FLA or the probability he’ll waive to play on a Western Conference Team is high, but anything is possible, right!?

He might. Especially with a new coach but not at the cost of Reinhart who will be better since this year was a down year for all panthers not named chucky and vergs. I’m sure Reinhart signs for the same contract long term. He won’t get much of a raise. But I’d you take away ekblad now we need rhd so that defeats the purpose

Fair point, but my concern is mainly improving the Flames, so that would be FLA’s problem
