Offseason discussion page. I'm not really in the mood to be thinking about the Leafs right now, but I know that by tomorrow, I will be. No matter what, I love this team. Figured a specific thread for talking UFAs, trades, and drafting would be nice

The irony.

A year ago Leafs get called for Interference - taking game tying goal off the board.
Here, Gudas interferes with Jarnkrok and goal stands.

TOR never looked good in these playoffs, they never looked good after the TDL. The problem in this series was the team not starting on time, playing with any urgency until it was too late an all to common theme throughout the season and finishing.

I had so much excitement and hope after the 16/17 season, the future was bright, young stars on ELC, and they have one Series win to show for it.

What an absolute waste

Super disappointed how this season ended. Don’t want to take anything away from finally getting over the 1st round hump but I was believed that once that happened a long run was going to happen. That’s what makes this loss hurt, at least in previous exits they always took it to 7. To go out like this in the 2nd round no less just sucks.

Killorn would be such a nice add this summer and Leafs have the cap to bring him in. He has the playoff pedigree and knows what it takes for a deep run

If we can bring back ROR, Acciari and Schenn I want him to come in as he was just such a pest in that Tampa series especially game 3

As rn this is what I see

Jarnkrok-Matthews-Nylander
Knies-JT-Marner
Robertson-ROR-Killorn
Lafferty-Holmberg-Acciari

Rielly-Schenn
McCabe-Liligren
Brodie-Timmins

Woll/Samsonov

Shrug

Despite being 33 he Cirelli and Hagel gave us a run that series. 6gp 3 goals 2 assists in Tampa series. Reg season 64 points almost 30 goals.

A 2 year 4.5mill deal is perfect as this guy has been on deep runs before and knows what it takes to win

Didn't he go like 30 playoff games without a goal?

Killorn had 3 goals 2 assists in the Toronto series along with almost 30 goals and 64 points so....

Only last year was a weird year for him. But in all but one of their deep runs he gave them the points

Last year was a bit odd for him

As when u look at his stats he was a guy who would chip in goals for TBL in their many playoff runs other than that year.

But hey look at the series vs. us 6gp 3 goals 2 assists. In comparison Jarnkrok, Bunting, Lafferty combined 3 goals

https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=105394

Man that guy with Cirelli and Hagel was annoying lul.

Anyways hes not afraid to drop the gloves, can bat u 20+ goals, play PP and PK, and has been on multiple deep runs. I know hes 33 but he is perfect just give him a Perron like deal 2 years 4.5mill

I wouldn't necessarily call it the "perfect time" to give a 33 year old a multi-year deal at a pretty substantial AAV considering that Matthews and Nylander are going to need extensions. If you sign ROR to a multi-year deal, then I would avoid Killorn.

Someone like Sharangovich makes perfect sense. He has a ton of upside, is an excellent penalty killer, and is seemingly being ousted by New Jersey management. He has 1 RFA year left with a QO of 2.05 mil. Go out, get him, sign him for a year, and see where it goes. I want a balanced lineup. Something like:

Sharangovich - Matthews - Jarnkrok
Knies - Tavares - Marner
Donato - OReilly - Nylander
Holmberg - Acciari - Sundqvist

McCabe - Liljegren
Rielly - Brodie
Giordano - Timmins

Samsonov
Woll

Extra: Lafferty, 7D, 13F

Im thinking the same deal as Perron 2 years 4-4.5mill as the way hes playing I can see him giving us 40-50 points and around 20 goals

I like your idea but the issue is prices as Sundqvist probs not gonna come cheap and Donato is so streaky idk. Will see

I just feel a veteran who has been on multiple long runs would be a valuable addition rn

Swinging a trade for a guy like Geekie could be fun. Im honestly not too sure what the Leafs will look at this offseason. I think Sharangovich would be really great regardless

Geekie u could probs get dirt cheap. Personally I am keeping an eye on LAK

They got cap issues and need to extend some guys

Dubas or whoever plays their cards right could get Iaffalo or Vilardi

I feel the same as you about these playoff games. Leafs dominated game 2 in the Tampa series and then could only dominate parts of the other games in the series.

In the Florida series Leafs got shots on goal but really, most of them were easy saves for Bob. Funny thing is, the few goals they did score via screens and deflections were not enough because they just refused to go to those areas regularly.

This team plays too cute/looking too much for the tic tac goal and not enough work for the ugly, grindy goals.

Lots of controversy, refs didnt give a ****, seems like a leafs playoff series to me

If we did anything FLA did multiple penalties and suspensions galore lul

Anyways now we know R2 is gonna be a **** so up to Dubas or whoever's GM to make a team ready for all.

One other thing not posted here. Bunting style elbow. Non-Bunting style response by Refs (and likely DOPS).
