Winnipeg says no but those are the type of moves your team should do. its too dependent on the 3 players with huge contracts so if they don't produce you're screwed. get players who are capable of producing on their own. Also you need Grit. Nylander and Matthews are soft you need to compensate for it.

Devs got no reason to trade McLeod...

I think the rest of the team compensates for them, ik winnpeg would say no to this upfront but their is a few prospects leafs could add in to swing it. I doubt either helly or schieffe come back.

Ik i just like McLeod. I still think my trade was fair and overpaid. Doesnt have to be him in that spot tho

Not the kind of move Seattle would make and Toronto would be able get more assets for Marner from elsewhere

I wouldn't say it's overpaid if none of those assets address the Devils needs and give them a winger they don't need that comes at a higher price than we likely pay McLeod.

Why would Winnipeg take on a bad contract while also retaining on Helle? Trading Hellebuyck and Scheifele would facilitate a rebuild, and JT wouldn't waive to play there anyways, so Winnipeg would have to flip him, and either eat some of is salary, or take on a bad contract, which wouldn't make sense when they could easily trade Scheife and Helle without having to retain, or take on bad contracts.
