Description
Need to add another dimension to this team, I would rather spend money on Domi or Bertuzzi then Bunting, those other guys are proven rats who can play playoff hockey, i like bunting but hes not there yet. So Domi or Bertuzzi are my main targets. Next get ROR back on a hometown discount, his leadership and ability to play up and down the lineup is huge. Acciari is another key guy but if he wants too much I would look at Bjugstad, Eller or Fast. Next is another element of scoring, Compher woukd be ideal can play up and down the lineup. Other guys that could be looked at as potential fits if you can get them for cheap would be Drouin, Patches, or Brown. All guys with injury problems or havent played well recently. If you can get one of them for cheap, I dont see why you dont take a risk. I am comfortable with Sammy and Woll, I honestly think Woll can be a legit starter in this league. If we can add one more depth dman that would be awesome as well. Having 8 NHL d is a treat. Extra forwards can be McMann, Robertson etc.

Hawks would do it for a later 2nd, to move up like 8 spots for that contract doesn’t make sense.

This.

Simply look at a pick value chart and a 3rd for a late 1st is a mid 2nd which is a bargain to dump the cap and salary that comes with Murray. I know, Mrazek, but times and circumstances have changed. Last year Hawks had no 1st rounders on draft day, today they have 2 with 4 more in the next 2 drafts. They had no goalie under contract ready to play in the NHL....this year they have 2 if not 3 (Mrazek actually filled a roster spot which Murray will force a buyout/trade/or carrying 5 organizationally). The Hawks have 4 2nd rounders that can easily be packaged if they want to jump into the 1st. Last year you had a new GM trying to put his mark on the franchise, Today, virtually every tie to the Cup era is gone....coaches, players, announcers, trainer....everything.
