Can’t see the leafs doing that. The whole point of trading Marner would be that they’re admitting they can’t build a contender with that many guys with such big contracts. Why would they trade Marner for someone who is probably not even quite as good, making even more, and older? Just to get a late 1st?

Actually trades similar like this happen all the time, but it's usually trade a 7th Rd 2023 for a 7th Rd 2024 pick.

Yeah, I'm aware of swapping years on picks that will be around the same place in the draft +- 5 or 10.

But just giving up 33 spots in the same draft for the hell of it is just silly.

Hawks decline. Goodrow doesn't fit the Hawks rebuild plan in any fashion. I don't understand the Ranger fans aversion to just buying him out?
