La doesn't consider that. 1 year of Matthews doesn't have remotely that much value

Chicago decline. I don´t feel like 7 spots in the draft is enough for Murray.
Maybe switch it up to Ottawas 2nd (44) and It´s more likely imo.

More like the Dallas 3rd which would actually be a rational trade value to dump 6 million salary and 4.7 cap....the equivalent of an early 2nd value.

Last year Mrazek gave us 13 spots, I know that Murrays caphit is larger but Mrazek contract was 2 years so I really don´t think 89OA will do it. Maybe I can stretch to Tampa/Rangers 2nd (52/55), but not Dallas.

CHI fans are wild, I’d take that. Not like they will be anywhere close to the cap floor lmao

And the Leafs gave up the #13OA pick to dump a similar contract in Marleau not that long ago too...maybe Hawk fans should ask for an unprotected 1st based on precedent because that is about as likely to happen as agreeing to move 6 spots up in the draft to take Murray.

Hawks sign 2 UFA's at 4, give their own RFA's the required raises to qualify them, and fill out the roster with AHL players, they are at the cap floor with the rest of the contracts on the books. The cap floor myth is hardly a reason to do lopsided trades to help the Leafs as if most of the rest of the teams in the league don't have a bad contract they would love to shed and there are very few teams that can take a 5 million cap hit and have the financial resources to pay 6 million to buy a pick.

If you’re rebuilding, it’s not as big of a deal as you’re making it lmfaooo

Who said it was a big deal? Because the Hawks won't want to take a craptacular deal to help the Leafs with the cap to "reach the cap floor" is no big deal at all. Hawks have no less than 20 other teams with a contract they would love to get off their cap and I would guess they end up with better than moving up 6 picks in the draft for their trouble. Cap space for a rebuilding team has an expiration date of generally 2 to 3 years before you actually have to start paying guys like Bedard.

Murray has one year left? You’re not holding his contract until the time Bedard expires. To take on 4 mil isn’t a big deal, and to move up some spots it’s definitely something I’d consider.

Hawks fans on Capfriendly are also have a tendency to act snobby when taking cap dumps for picks.
I know Davidson isn’t going to be helping teams for free, but if you don’t want to see these kinds of moves all of the time, maybe he shouldn’t have taken two years of Mrazek at 3.8m to move from 38 to 25. (and Minten is looking, at least right now, better than Rinzel. The difference isn’t that vast)

Suggesting they take Murray at over 4m for one year isn’t a stretch.

Problem is that Murray is not 4 for one year. He is owed 6.4 actual dollars with a cap hit of 4.68 (Hawks just took 4.5 cap & salary for #44 OA and a future 4th a couple of months ago). By your logic, maybe the Leafs should not have done the Marleau deal either since Jarvis looks so much better than capspace. Hindsight is perfect, but beyond that some of the sitation this year is much different for the Hawks to simply rinse and repeat the Mrazek trade (only worse to move up only half as much). Hawk had no NHL goalie and Murray would make 5 organizationally (wide opening for the they still won't have a NHL goalie joke) , they had ZERO 1st round picks, and had a new GM coming into his first draft.

And some other teams fans have a tendancy to act like they are doing the Hawks a favor "to get to the cap floor" or to give them any value to take their unwanted junk for pennies on the dollar.

They took 4.5 for the 44thOA but suggesting they take Murray for one year to move up to the 28th spot is “pennies on the dollar” …?

Have you looked at a draft pick value chart? The Atlantic chart shows this moving from 35 to 28 at the equivalent of getting pick #109 which is no where near #44 and doesn't have a future 4th either. That sure seems like pennies on the dollar. If you don't like the Atlantic chart, there are a bunch of others you can pick that will show this move is the equivalent of a late 3rd or 4th round pick.

If you want to use the Mrazek trade with blinders and not acknowledge the circumstance MIGHT be a little different, then the closest equivilent trade is the Ottawa #44 for the Boston pick and not the Hawks 2nd. If the Hawks want the value they got for (just) taking the Zaitsev dump, then the Boston 1st for the NYR 2nd nets out to the a value of the #45 pick, throw in a 4th (or maybe give back the Hawk 5th) and we have the Zaitsev trade 2.0.
