There will likely be a bidding war (even if it's a mini one) this next TDL for his services. Obviously TRad needs to play well next year, but for less than the league minimum and RFA controll...Jeannot/Hagel are two HECK of an anchor in negotiating for the Hawks.

Not suggesting something like this couldn't occur. I'd swap out Denisenko with Michael Benning to start.

Personally I vision Benning and Samoskevich as replacements for Montour and Duclair next season so I wouldn't trade them unless it can fix those problems long term. I intended this as an offseason move but could see it happen at the TDL too.

This is a reasonably fair value offer, but I don't think the Hawks would bite as it is much more quantity than quality and the Hawks have an awful lot of quanity already. Their GM just said he does not see them actually using all of their 8 picks in the top 100 they have in this draft and all this does is add abother one. I think the Hawks hold out for more quality.

I doubt CHI looks at Benning. Davidson doesn't seem to have interest in small defensemen, and Benning is 5'9". Personally, I'd be looking at Samoskevich and not much else.

I understand not wanting to clog a pipeline. I also understand undersized dmen tend to be puck movers that don't tend to translate too well to the NHL and then if they do tend to translate even a little...the expectation is big money due to points vs overall game. Some exceptions sure.

With that said I'd d be ok with a little prospect diversity. All in all, I would prefer quality picks, but I've seen worse.
