Not sure what the motivation would be for Flyers to take on two years of Marner and trading two years of Konecky and two years of Provorov for about the same cap.

Can’t afford to extend nylander for probably 2 million or so more than he makes now but can bring in Wilson, bertuzzi and Konecny?
They can afford it, only one year of JT with the matthews and nylander extensions, they can make it work if they want too.
No trades they would make this summer are totally cap related, more about changing the core of the team. They can afford what they got now, just probably isn’t the way to go.

I would rather have two really good players making 5-6 million each then an elite player making 9-10 million.

JT is untradeable. He isn't going anywhere.

You will need to buy out murray or put him on LTIR. Nobody will take the contract.

A joke for the caps, they would not give up Marty and Wilson that easily, sure the talent is there but Wilson is too special to send off unless the package was heavier in the capitals favor.

LTIR is a legit avenue to put him on and not give up any assets to pay someone to take that contract.

I doubt the Caps will get a better player than Nylander IF they decide to trade Wilson.

More so pointing out the false statement of they “have” to trade them cause of the cap. I think they should trade Marner because that’s 11 million to spread out, I’d rather keep Nylander as even with an extension he’s cheaper than Marner

It was not a false statement. The cap is barely going up. You add Matthews's extension and it makes it even harder to ice a competitive team in the playoffs. And you can't give everyone raises because you like all of them.

I think having three players making 10 or above is a recipe for disaster as we've seen. I would want Nylander to stay if JT wasn't here. And if the Leafs decide to only trade one of these guys then they won't have any playoff success.
