JT goes to Pitt

Created by: Penz87
Team: 2023-24 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 17, 2023
Published: May 17, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
THE ONLY reason I am making this is because I saw someone make this trade from a Leafs perspective, so I am making this from a Pens perspective.

- The forward group isn't terrible
- The defense is rough
- The goaltending is sketchy as well

I agree, but honestly, it's arguably more of a cap dump for the Leafs.

A point a game centre who wins draws and is the captain is not a cap dump. Just go away

Tavares' value may not be great but at the end of the day he's still a point per game player. I wouldn't call him just a "cap dump".

Relax, I'm not saying this trade is realistic. I don't even want Tavares, you leafs can keep him and his terrible contract. There has been some talk of trading one of the core 4. And I saw someone make this trade.

I said arguably, because this would free up 6 million in cap space for the leafs.

All Leafs are cap dumps on this site, that's what they will try to spin. Some of the people commenting the most on this site are not with reality unfortunately.

I agree, I just saw it from Leafs and was curious how the cap would work out

I think the defense and goaltending are fine - you can keep Desmith too.

The issue is TOR obviously never takes that trade

Makes sense, I would say that Toronto trading JT makes sense but we need younger guys and he deffently has value, either a 3rd straight up or another bad contract who is still a second line guy/salary retention and a first
