Alright buddy, lets get some things straight. Your gonna have to pay Samsonov way more than 3 million. He just had a great season, not gonna work. The fact that you have Tavares as your number 1 center means that you are missing the playoffs. Nugent Hopkins is the most overrated powerplay merchant ever to live. Why would you trade New York for the 3 most overrated prospects in the history of the NHL? The fact that you have Matthew Knies on your 4th line honestly offends me. He's the best player the Leafs have right now other than Samsonov, who you, for some reason, think only need to pay 3 million dollars. I think it's time to start actually watching a little more hockey and not playing rookie mode chel.

I watch A LOT of hockey. Not only Toronto. Way more than 3 times 3 is way overdone. Sammy was more injured than healthy. You should not pay an injured prone goalie more than 3.5. History tells... If he wants more, sign a cheaper option. Woll is the future.

And Tavares should play 2nd line LW and not 1st Line centre.

Knies should play 1st line except the GM finally get somebody who could play consistent with Matthews.

Acquiring Matthews while trading away the two most likely players to play alongside him is the recipe for turning the Ducks into Toronto West -- a top-heavy team with a couple of stars and interchangeable spear carriers with no hope of reaching the Conference finals due to lack of impact depth.

If Matthews wants to sign his new contract here, he'll want to sign his new contract here in 2024.

1000% I think these are real leaf fans I hold on to hope that they are trolling but this really needs to stop absolutely making leaf fans look uneducated and more foolish than everyone already thinks that we are...feel free to check out my teams even though my Brodie and Murray trades get a bit crazy I am willing to let go of bunting and O'Reilly to upgrade the Leafs but stop with these core 4 trades we are not getting back what we are giving there's no chance.

While I respect you sir. This statement is off base. Take out Terry and this year's first but add Matthews and the Ducks are a playoff team likely. Matthews really is that good. I know the general consensus on here is that he's not but he is. And who will play with him doesn't matter too much, he'll make them better. And the Leafs not winning this year and past seasons has been a number of reasons and not the lazy, "they are top heavy!" They have similar depth to Tampa and Colorado and they won. The problem is coaching.

It's nice to see someone who sees this and think, "leaf fans can't be this dumb" rather than "finally a smart leaf fan, blow up everything for nothing because it makes me laugh" those are some sad people

Oh, I think that Matthews is at least the third-best player in the league. But being a likely playoff team is exactly what -- and all -- Toronto has accomplished without the supporting cast. And I disagree that Toronto has the same depth as Tampa and Colorado. To say that guys like Kerfoot and Jarnkrok and Bunting are the equivalent of Nichushkin and Burakovsky and Lehkonen is viewing your own players through rose-colored glasses. Matthews, Zegras and McTavish are not a second-round team. To win this thing, we're going to need Terry and Fantilli or Carlsson, too, plus whoever we get in the first round next June.
