11OA will cost you 19OA, 35OA, plus another piece like Murphy

Vancouver fans won't think so, but this is pretty fair.

Personally I don't like it for VAN. There should be a very good prospect available in that 11th spot.

depends how you value boeser, but any draft pick value chart you can find will tell you 19+35>11

boeser, contrary to what you believe is not a cap dump, it is different than a cap casualty. A cap dump is a bad player that you pay to get off, a cap casualty is a player who you trade for less than his value due to cap constraints. Boeser is a 6M player being paid 6.65M, he is a cap casualty if you want him you will still have to pay, and that price will be around the value of a 2nd. And moving up from 19th to 11th is more than just a 2nd round pick. If you want 11OA and boeser (to play with CB98) it will cost you a pair of 1sts and a 2nd, both TBL picks and your 2nd this year. That is steep, but thats the ask in this draft

Vancouver fans need to realize that they need to get rid of cap and there aren't a lot of teams willing to take on cap space. Unfortunately there players aren't going to be worth as much as they think. It is just the cost of doing business in the current NHL with not much growth in the salary cap yet.

That trade down is fair but I don't think Vancouver would want to move down with the quality of prospects that will be there at 11

2 firsts is looney toons but maybe the sens pick is switched with 35OA to account for the depth of this draft class.

Boeser is not a dump in that he can actually play and is worth something remotely resembling his contract. But he is overpaid at least some and a cap "casualty" generally is not a get out jail free card and usually means a little indigestion. There probably is very little appetite for a 6.6 million 50-55 point winger around the league.

Here is a counter proposal (that Nuck fans probably will like less): #11OA, Boeser, & Future considerations (which is Myers after his bonus getting paid) for #35OA, #56OA, & #67OA. Using the Atlantic value chart for picks, this is basically moving Myers and Boeser with the Nashvile 3rd (#68OA). If there would be any interest in a RFA dman, Caleb Jones (LHD) or Mithcell (RHD) could be added as I think the Hawks are better off ripping the bandaid off and just taking lumps with kids in their spots (losing a couple games you might otherwise not while giving kids a chance to develop in the NHL is win win for the Hawks).

They can move Myers for cheap after his bonus

Then VAN would just ship out a third if it's "equivalent." Boeser also plays at a 60 point pace (albeit not a major difference)

ah but it is 2 late 1sts, it is not a linear progression when you get to the top of the draft, its exponential
