Edmundson vs Roslovic straight up
Not giving up something better than a 6th for Roslovic

I'd consider a Roslovic/Edmundson swap, but your second sentence is silly.

I don't see why Montreal would have interest in Roslovic right now. Maybe in a hockey trade for a vet Montreal doesn't want with a similar salary, but the pick and cap space has significantly more value to Montreal right now.

The Chabot trade looks like a classic quantity for quality trade that never happens unless a guy is a pending UFA or wants out.

We have too many LHD and we don't have a lot of center
A swap Roslovic vs Edmundson is a fair trade

I was more referencing the second part where you'd only give up a 6th for him.

Because we aren't spending picks for a guy who isn't part of the plan
Maybe a 5th and we flip him for better value later but CBJ would never do that
I was more saying MTL wouldn't spend picks in the 1st to 4th round for him

He's definitely worth more than a 6th. Probably a worth a 3rd or 4th to the right team. Maybe he could bring a 2nd at the deadline to a more desperate team.

He's very skilled and a good skater, but his compete level is poor, his defensive effort and instincts are poor, and he is wildly inconsistent with his offensive production because - I believe - his processing speed is not up to par with his physical talent.

He often hangs on to the puck too long trying to make something out of nothing, and it usually results in an inordinate number of bad turnovers. Also, I'm sure there are teams out there hard up for a 3C that would still try him there, but IMO he is NOT a center. He just doesn't think the game well enough or have the physical presence, faceoff skill or defensive dedication to be a good center. I do think he could still be a good middle six wing with the right linemates and produce 40-50 points a year.
