Description
What kind of changes will EDM make, clearly they a few upgrades. Those will be difficult with the tight cap, RFA deals for Bouchard and Mcleod and limited draft capital.

Couple Notes:

Bob Stauffer mentioned perhaps the Nurse pair needs a puck mover, this would somehow put the emphasis on Nurse to focus on the defensive side of his game and play more physical. Not entirely sure I agree with the premise as he wa paired with Bouchard for a period of time and did not alter his game in the manner that Stauffer alluded too. However I agree that the Oil need to improve on Ceci. He is a tradeable asset who had strong stretches in EDM, especially last years playoff run when he really anchored that top pair. That being said, he is limited and EDM needs to upgrade there in order to give them two 25min per night pairs if they need.

Does a 3rd pair of Broberg and Vinny scare you? I know it scares the hell outta me but the Oil need to give Brberg some rope. Vinny has some areas of weakness in his game that hopefully he address's this summer. While I'd love to keep a great 3rd pair Dman like Kulak around, his contract makes him a prime candidate to be moved especially if it helps address other areas of need such as 2RW??

Yamo out for space and depth ..... if you can find a suitor.

No more running 11&7, 12&6 and balance the goalie starts. Skinner was 100% burnt out these playoffs, and that cannot happen again next year. I think you could say the same thing about a lot of the Oilers players due to the 11&7 , its a big burden to do so frequently.

Foegele won’t fetch a third and Raddysh will cost more to get.

1. I love Severson, I just think he gets 6 mil ++ from another team
2.Kulak is much better than Desharnais, I'd play him in his spot and make Desharnais a scratch moving forward

I too like Severson and don't doubt he will get offered more by a team like ANA, just curious if he would accept a lesser deal for a chance to win the cup with a potential favourite. If not maybe go after Gudas or Schenn for less money, if not them run it back with Ceci.

Kulak is better, absolutely, I just wonder if EDM doesn't force feed Vinny and Broberg minutes and possibly use Kulak + to address some other areas of the team. But I would sooner they kept him as he once again showed his value in this years playoffs.

Foegele might not fetch a 3rd but he won't be given away, hes a useful player entering the last year of his deal so he won't be viewed as a problem contract.

I had initially included a 2nd with Yamo to go after Raddysh, would absolutely do that.

I like that Raddysh deal with the 2nd. I agree that Foegele is serviceable, I just wouldn’t expect a 3rd in return for him.

I think you undervalued Severson and overvalued McLeod.

That Bouchard contract scares me but that’s likely what will happen.

Don’t see CHI moving Raddysh especially for that. I think they’d prefer Foegele to Yamo.

I think Ceci is worth that or more but some fanbase disagree. Gotta find the right fit. Don’t think it’s Ducks more likely Buffalo or even Devils/Wild.

I'm willing to pay for him, not a lot, but I'd pay. The above deal is fine frankly.

I really don't know why you'd put a puck mover with Nurse and expect him to be the stay at home D, for how much he is making against the cap, he is supposed to be the puck mover on his pairing and be defensively responsible.

Yeah Foegele definitely won’t get a 3rd from Washington.

I agree 100% but the local radio guy (Bob Stauffer) made that suggestion and he is very connected to the team. I would prefer Gudas, Mayfield or Schenn and have nurse be the transition dman but I'm just going where the smoke is.

Severson will get offered more by teams like Anaheim however EDM offers a legit chance at a cup. The Budget crunch that EDM is in means whomever signs is taking a discount.

I wish the Cap was climbing to the point EDM could go 8 years with Bouchard but it just seems highly unlikely at this point.

Raddysh for Yamo or Foegele + 2nd ?

Ceci is a decent 2nd pair defenceman, someone will pay a price for him. Agreed Minny makes some sense, I like ANA as Shattenkirk is a UFA and they need someone to play tough minutes in the top 4
