Leafs keep Liljegren over the picks. Too much for Mayfield. More of the same, loving bottom enders on other teams but hating the Leaf players....oh well.
Like the Jets trade....except, don't the never ending whiner PLD on my team.

How many times do we have to say no before you move on and try trading marner elsewhere? Jets decline

Idk what’s crazier, the idea that the Leafs would pull the trigger on this deal or the assumption that PLD (noted Montreal fan) would ever sign a long-term extension in Toronto.

Cap redistribution. They get a very good #2C in Dubois and a 18th overall AND cap space. People keep talking about how the leafs have 4 people making 40m of the cap and how that's a problem. I see the problem actually being 3 guys making over 33m in cap. Marner will be the better player in any trade involving him. But they get a very good piece in Dubois, a good pick and a lot of cap.

Marner is a 100pt player who just got nominated for the Selke, I know how good he is. But no team has won with 1 guy making over 10m a year. Leafs have 3. They need to spread his cap around.

WPG doesn't want MARNER and that Franchise killing contract. Can the LAFFS fans get together and talk about this???

Please stop pitching Marner on the Jets unless he's part of a package and must take Scheifele and Wheeler.

I don't mean you specifically sorry. I mean the concept of marner to the jets. It's quite annoying and neither team wants to do a trade there.

Both teams are expected to make at least one big trade this offseason. They are both in a position of change. So they will be linked together from time to time. It is better to just go with it than to get angry when it happens.

The Jets aren't adding a first to Dubois for 2 years of Marner. With his contract, Marner simply isn't with that much.

Marner just doesn't make sense for the jets whatsoever. They don't tend to spend that much on 1 player and likely wouldn't have the cap for it unless wheeler is gone. Jets are likely retooling so why trade a 1st and a player that's worth a 1st plus for a guy that can't be traded and leaves in 2 years. Like I wouldn't trade pick 18 for him. He just isn't a fit whatsoever and thus would be a trash offer like wheeler and heinola for marner which I know isn't a deal toronto would do so there's no trade to be had with marner.

I certainly understand how desperate Leaf fans are to dump his Marner's contract. It was an albatross the day he signed it and is getting worse. He's never been worth anywhere closeto what he's being paid.

You just have to understand that no one owes the Leafs anything or are obligated to help them fix their cap mismanagement. Dumbas got you guys into this predicament and there's no easy way out.

Marner dropped 99 pts this year AND is nominated for the selke (best defensive forward). Teams will pay for this contract easily. They will pay a lot actually. BUT I do agree a 9.5m x 8 year contract would have been perfect for him and for the team when he signed his 11m contract.

Cool. Hang into him then because no one is paying the ludicrous amounts Leaf fans want for that contract.

We'll see how many teams would be willing to take on that contract. My guess is none that Marner would be willing to go to.

Marner's no movement clause only kicks in July 1st. He can be traded ANYWHERE before then.
